The Gathering At the fulfillment of the promise of . Resurrection, mankind shall be variously gathered unto the plane of resurrection by the angels. Some of the people will be conveyed with great ease, some will be conveyed riding, some will be gathered to the plane by fire which will accompany them and some others shall be dragged to the plane of resurrection on their faces the various categories being a function of belief and deeds while on earth. No one shall escape this great gathering.
About it Allaah says, "That is a Day whereon mankind will be gathered together, and that is a Day when all (the dwellers of the heavens and the earth) will be present. "(Qll:103). He also says,"And they will be set before your Lord in (lines as) rows, (and Allaah will say): now indeed .you have come to Us as We created you the first time. Nay, but you thought that We have appointed no meeting for you ( with Us). (Q18:48). And, He says, "Say (0 Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)}: "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day." (Q56:49-50).
The Standing The standing on the plain of resurrection shall be for a long period of time and the sun with its brightness and intense heat mall be brought so close! People will sweat until it forms pools of water up to their heels, joints, knees, ears. And some will be drowned in their own sweat. People will yell and cry until they exhaust all tears. Mankind will be in drunken riot (as if intoxicated) due to the dreadfulness of this day.
Concerning this great grief and regret Allaah says, "And warn them (0 Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) of the Day of grief and regrets, when the case has been decided, while (now) they are in a state of carelessness, and they believe not. "(Q19:39). The difficulty of this Day shall be so great that no parent, nor child nor close associate would ask about the condition of the other. Allaah says, "The Day that the sky will be like the boiling filth of oil, (or molten copper or silver or lead, etc). And the mountains will be like flakes of wool, And no friend will ask of a friend, Though they shall be made to see one another {(Le. on the Day of Resurrection), there will be none but see his father, children and relatives, but he will neither speak to them nor will ask them for any help)). The Mujrim,(criminal, sinner, disbeliever, etc.) would desire to ransom himself from the punishment of that Day by his children, and his wife and his brother and his kindred who I sheltered him. And all that are in the earth, So that It might save him." (Q70:8-14). However, out of His Mercy on mankind, Allaah shall provide His shade to some special people on that hot day.
Abu Hurairah narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Seven people, Allaah said`` seven people, Allaah shall place them under His shade on a day when there shall be no other shade except His- a just ruler, a youth who occupies himself with servitude to Allaah, a man whose heart is attached to the mosques, two men who love each other, meet each other and depart each other for the sake of Allaah, a man seduced by a woman of high rank and beauty and said, I fear Allaah, a man who gives charity and conceals it {to such an extent}that the left hand does not know what the right hand has given and a man who remembers Allaah in solitude and his eyes shed tears." (Bukhaari and Muslim) Dear Brothers and Sisters, isnt this day worthy of being prepared for? How well are you preparing for it.
