Enjoin good,
Forbid evil,
Islam commands
Call me not a righter
If I preach piety
But practice sin.
Call me not a righter
If my actions
Match not my speech,
If I practise not
What I preach
If my hypocritic tongue
Leads people astray.
Call me not a righter
If others' misdeeds are not safe
From my exposure
If I be a tribunal
Rather than a private educator.
Call me not a righter
If I write for fulsome praise,
Or claim pseudo-glory
If a mere writer you still call me
Rather than a righter
Upon all these,
I've not written,
Neither do I imparted.
