Last edition we started our article on life in the Barzakh.
Barzakh is a stage that every man will go through after he has been buried. At the stage, if he was a righteous person in the world, he would be in the pleasure of Allaah, and if he is one of those who were sinful [especially the kaafir], he will be in the punishment of Allaah from then on. This stage is narrated in one of the hadith of the Prophet [Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him} that we started last edition. Let continue from where we stopped; So, we proceeded until we came by a river of blood in which a man was standing at its middle and at its edge was a man holding stones.
The man in the river attempts to come out and the one holding stones (at the edge) throws stones in to his mouth and he falls back into where he was. So, each time he attempts to come out, he throws the stones into his mouth and he gets back to where he was. I said, Who are these? They said to me, Proceed! until the Messenger (Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him )said, So, I said, I have been taken all along this night; inform me of what I have seen. They said, As for the man you came by whose sides of mouth, nostrils and eyes were turn off from front to back, he is the symbol of the man who goes out of his house in the morning and tells lies that are spread all over the world. And those naked men and women you saw in a construction like an oven, they are adulterers and adulteresses.
The man whose head was smashed with the rock, he is the symbol of the one who studies the Quraan and then neither recites it nor acts on its orders and sleeps neglecting the enjoined prayers. The one you saw in the river (of blood) are those who devour Riba. Bukhaari and Muslim. A Glimpse into Naeem of the grave Baraa ibn Aazib RA narrates that the Messenger Peace and Blessings of Allaah be upon him said concerning the believer after successfully responding to the questions of the two angels,
"A caller shall call from the heavens, verily, my servant said the truth. So, a spread will be made for him from the Paradise and he will be clothed from the Paradise and a door is opened to him from the Paradise and from it, the aroma and fragrance and room will be made for him in the breadth of his sight." Muslim and Ahmad.
May Allaah The Most High grant us the Naeem in our graves. Aameen.
