Everyone of us fall sick at one time or the other. This is part of our nature. The Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] has advised us to visit one another. This will strengthen the tie of brotherhood amongst us. Apart from strengthening the tie of brotherhood, there are a lot of rewards that are inherent in it.
Let us look at some of them;
The Prophet's [peace and blessings be upon him]s Command: Narrated AI Bara bin Azib: Allaah's Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] ordered us to do seven things and forbade us to do other seven. He ordered us: to follow the funeral procession, to visit the sick, to accept invitations, to help the oppressed. to fulfill the oaths. to return the greeting and to reply to the sneezer (saying, "May Allah be merciful on you," provided the sneezer says. "All the praises are for Allah."). [Bukhari]
From The Gardens Of Paradise: Thawban reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him]. said: "Verily, when a Muslim visits his sick Muslim brother, he is, as it were, in one of the gardens of Paradise (enjoying its ripe fruits) until he returns to his home. "[Bukhari]
Choicest Fruits Of Paradise: Ali [RA] said: "I heard the Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings be upon him], saying: When a Muslim visits a sick Muslim in the morning, seventy thousand angels pray for him, and they continue praying for him until that evening. When one visits the sick in the evening, the angels pray for him and continue praying for him until the next morning. Moreover, he will be rewarded with the choicest fruits of Paradise." [Tirmidhee] Narrated Umm Salamah Allaahs Messenger [peace and blessings be upon him] said: "Whenever you visit the sick or the dead, supplicate for good because angels say Aameen to whatever you say. [Muslim]
