A Cure & A Protection

These two chapters are some of the best for seeking cure and protection. They are (Surahs AI-Falaq and An-Nas, Q 113and 114). The chapters read thus:

(Surah AI-Falaq)

"QuI audhu birabbil falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghaasiqin idha waqab Wa min sharrin naffaathati fit uqad. Wa min sharri haasidin idha hasad" Meaning "Say: I seek refuge with (Allaah) the Lord of the daybreak, from the evil of what He has created, and from the evil of the darkening (night) as it comes With its darkness, and from the evil of the witchcraft when they blow in the knots, and from the evil of the Envier when he envies". "

QuI audhu birabbin naas, Malikin naas, lIaahin naas, Min sharril was-waasil kbennes, Alladhi yuwaswisu fee sudoorin naas, Minal-jinnati wannaas Meaning Say: "I seek refuge with (Allaah) the Lord of mankind, the King of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the whisperer who withdraws, Who whispers in the breasts of mankind, of jinns and men".

Two of the best Surahs: These Surahs are two of the best that Allaah has revealed in His Book. Narrated Uqbah (RA): I was riding with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he said "Oh Uqbah! Should I not teach you two Surahs that are of the best two Surahs that the people recite? Uqbah said of course, Oh Messenger of Allaah. So he taught me how to recite Qul audhu birabbil falaq and Qul audhu birabbin naas. (Ahmad)

For Protection: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) informed us that these two Surahs are some of the best for seeking protection. lbn Abis AI-Juhani said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, Oh Abis! Shall I guide you to (or inform you) of the best thing that those who seek protection use for protection? He replied "of course, Oh Messenger of Allaah!" The Prophet (peace and I blessings be upon him) then taught him The Muawwidhatyn. (An- Nasai) In another narration. Abu Said that the Messenger of Allaah used to seek protection against the evil Eyes of the jinns and mankind. But when the Muawwidhatayn were revealed, he used them abandoned all besides them. (Tuhfat AIAhwadhi).

For Cure: In these two Surahs we can also I find cure for ailment. The mother of the believers Aisha, (RA) said that whenever the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings be upon him) was suffering from ailment, he would recite the Muawwidhatayn over himself and blow (over himself). Then if his pains became severe, Aisha said that she would recite Muawwidhafayn over him and take his hand and wipe it over himself seeking the blessing of those Surahs. (Muwaatta)
