- Do not brag, Do not boast
"And turn not your face away from men with pride, nor walk in insolence through the earth. Verily, Allaah likes not each arrogant boaster." (Q31 [Luqman]: 18)
- If you do not have complete knowledge about anything, better keep your mouth shut. It might have grave consequences
"When you were propagating it with your tongues, and uttering with your mouths that whereof you had no knowledge, you counted it a little thing, while with Allah it was very great. And why did you not, when you heard it, say? "It is not right for us to speak of this. Glory be to You (0 Allaah) this is a great lie." (Q24[Nur]:15-16)
- Do not talk, listen or do anything vain
"And when they hear AI-Laghw (dirty. false, evil vain talk), they withdraw from it and say: "To us our deeds, and to you your deeds. Peace be to you. We seek not the ignorant." (Q28[Qasas]:55)
- Do not verge upon any immodesty or lewdness whether surreptitious or overt
"Say (O Muhammad SAW):"Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not anything in worship with Him; be good and dutiful to your parents; kill not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and for them; come not near to AI-Fawahish (shameful sins, illegal sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, and kill not 'anyone whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause according to Islamiclaw). This He has commanded you that you may understand. (Q6[An'am]: 151)
- Consider others innocent until they are proven guilty with solid and truthful evidence
"Why then, did not the believers, men and women, when you heard it (the slander) think good of their own people and say: "This (charge) is an obvious lie?"(Q24[Nur]: 12)
- Ascertain the truth of any news, lest you smite someone in ignorance and afterwards repent of what you did
"O you who believe! If a rebellious evil person comes to you with a news, verify it, lest you harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful to what you have done. (Q49[Hujuraat]:6)
- Do not try to impress people on account of self-proclaimed virtues
"He knows you well when He created you from the earth (Adam), and when you were fetuses in your mothers' wombs. So ascribe not purity to yourselves. He knows best him who fears Allah and keep his duty to Him [i.e. these who are AI- Muttaqun (pious)."(Q53[Najm]:32)
