Drop A Vice…..
"There are, among men, those who purchase idle tales, without knowledge (or meaning)... for such there Will be a humiliating chastisement"
Time is the longest, yet the shortest; the slowest, yet the swiftest; most people neglect it and then regret it. Nothing can be done without it; swallows up all that is small and builds up all that is great. Successful people spend their time doing things that people who fail are unwilling to do. This same time many people spend for unprofitable ventures. Such time is the time spent in idle talk. Idle talk are those if uttered do not cause any benefit in this world and in the next. The more talk there are, the greater the tendency to sin. He who talks more talks much falsehood. It must be understood that death is standing in front and that every word uttered will be accounted for. Every breath is a valuable asset, so employ it wisely, drop vain talk, remember
"not a word does he utter but there is a vigilant Guardian", (Q50:18).
The Prophet (PBUH) urged us to employ our time very well because, "
Not a single dawn breaks out without two angels-shout: 'O Son of Adam! I am a new day and I witness your actions, so make the best out of me because I will never come back till the day of Judgement. ' "
…..Pick Up A Sunnah
"Is one whose heart Allah has opened to Islam, so that he has received light from Allah, (no better than one hard-hearted)? woe to those whose hearts are hardened against he remembrance of Allah.." (Q39:22)
Dhikr is the remembrance of Allah. It drives away Shaytan and his influences and also weakens his strength "feeble indeed is the cunning of Shaytan" (Q4:76)
It is the cause of Allah's pleasure and it relieves the mind of anxiety and worries. It produces joy and happiness in the heart
"for without doubt in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find satisfaction:" (Q13:28).
Remembrance of Allah strengthens the body and the mind and it is the key to' nearness to Allah as it makes one realise the greatness and the grandeur of the Almighty. If one remembers Allah in happiness, ·Allah remembers him inafiliction. It saves the tongue from indulging in backbiting, idle talk, lies and abuses. By virtue of dhikr the dhakir (he who remembers Allah) is blessed as also the person sitting by him. The shunning of remembrance is replete with great consequencies: Allah says
"if anyone withdraws from remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint for him a Shaytan' to be an intimate companion to him:" (Q43:36)
and
".. Whosoever turns away from my remembrance, for him is a life narrowed down, and we sit all raise him up blind on the Day Judgement"(Q20: 124)
