COVID-19 PROVES THE SUNNAH SUPERIOR
The spread of Covid-19 is highly regretted, but in it is a great lesson that mustn't escape mankind: The sacred texts of Islam are far superior to the best assembly of human intelligence.
At the onset when the virus had just been discovered in Wuhan, I watched Aljazeerah News for days as the World Health Organization president issued warnings to governments not to impose travel restrictions except to quarantine individuals with confirmed cases.
No doubt, that was a well-intended policy fashioned by the best medical brains perhaps, but I couldn't help wondering if our Prophet’s instruction was not being contradicted. He said about any city of Wuhan's unfortunate status: "Don't come out of it nor go into it."
«فإذا وقع بأرض وأنتم بها فلا تخرجوا منها فرارا منه وإذا وقع بأرض ولستم بها فلا تدخلوها» .
In retrospect, imposing that prophetic travel restriction on Wuhan city alone immediately and before the rest of China caught the disease, and then on China before the rest of the world caught it, would certainly have meant a lot of difficulty for those immediately concerned, but that certainly would also have been far less than what difficulty the entire mankind is experiencing presently.
Like the Quran, the authentic Sunnah is a revelation by the Creator and must not be scorned.
