Ubayy ibn Ka'b (RA) narrated:
"There was a man, and I do not know of any. other man, whose house was farther than his from the mosque and he never missed the prayer (in congregation). It was said to him or l said to him: 'If you were to buy a donkey you could ride upon it in the dark nights and in the burning sand.' He said: 'I do not like my house to be situated by the side of the mosque, for I (eagerly) desire that my steps towards the mosque, and back from it, should be recorded when I return to my family.' Upon this the Messenger of Allaah (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"Allaah has gathered all (rewards) for you.”(Muslim)
Make Huge your rewards
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As (RA) narrated: The Prophet (salallahu alayhiwa sallam) said:
"If anyone prays at night reciting regularly ten verses, he will not be recorded among the negligent; if anyone prays at night and recites a hundred verses, he will be recorded among those who are obedient to Allah; and if anyone prays at night reciting one thousand verses, he will be recorded among those who receive huge rewards." (Abu Dawood)
Set a good precedence
Jarir ibn Abdullah (RA) narrated: Some desert Arabs clad in woollen clothes came to Allaah's Messenger (salallahu alayhi wa sallam). He saw them in a sad plight as they had been hard pressed by need. He (the Prophet) exhorted people to give charity, but they showed some reluctance until (signs of) anger could be seen on his face. Then someone from the Ansar came with a purse containing silver. Then came another person and then other people followed them in succession until signs of happiness could be seen on his (sacred) face.
Thereupon Allaah's Messenger (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"He who introduced some good practice in Islam, which was followed after him (by people), will be assured of a reward like those who followed it. without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who introduced some evil practice in Islam, which was followed subsequently (by others), he will be required to bear the burden like that of those who followed this (evil practice) without theirs being diminished in any respect." (Muslim)
Sixty years away from Hell
Anas ibn Malik (RA) narrated: The Prophet (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"If anyone performs ablution well and pays a sick-visit to his brother Muslim seeking his reward from Allah, he will be removed a distance of sixty years (kharif) from Hell." I asked: "What is kharif, AbuHamzah?" He replied: "A year." (Abu Dawood)
Mountain of Good Deeds
Abu Huraira (RA) narrated that Allaah's Messenger (salallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:
"If one gives in charity what equals one date-fruit from the honestly earned money - and Allaah accepts only the honestly earned money - Allaah takes it in His right (hand) and then enlarges its reward for that person (who has given it), as anyone of you brings up his baby horse, so much so that it becomes as big as a mountain." (Bukhari)
