Ustadh: As-salaam alaykum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu.
Talib: Wa alaykum salaam wa rahmatullah wabarakatuhu.
Ustadh: Our discussion today shall be on the last day!
Talib: Please what is this Last Day?
Ustadh: The Day is called "the last day" because no other day will come after it. On that day, everyone that has come to this world at any time will be raised up from death and will be made to stand before Allaah; naked and barefooted!
Talib : Naked? It means on that day, everyone will be looking at the nakedness of other people; male and female! Is that a joke?
Ustadh: No! It is not a joke. The condition of everybody on that day will be too serious for him to know that the person besides him or her is not wearing any form of clothing. It will be so serious that everybody would be concerned about himself. rather than another person.
That is why Allaah said that on that day, a man would flee from his father who give him food while on the earth, his mother who breastfed him, his wives and children who were the joy of his eyes, his brother who supported him in times of need, and his close friends who were his companions on the face of the earth! People will be divided into three groups: two of the groups will enter the Paradise by Allaahs Permission, while the third one will enter the Hell fire.
Taalib: Subhanallaah - May Allaah be Glorified. Please tell us about the three groups?
Ustadh: The first and the best group will the As-Saabiqunal Muqarrabun those who were best in Islaam while alive. They will be nearest to Allaah and will have the, greatest of the rewards on the Last Day. The second group are the Ashabul Yameen - meaning "the Companions of the Right hand. They include all those who worshipped Allaah alone while in this life and they will be given their book of good deeds on their right hand, with a very bright and happy face.
These are the two groups that would enter Paradise by Allaahs Mercy .. The third group of people are called the Ashabus-Shimaal, meaning: "the companions of the left hand." These are the people who did evil while alive and they did not worship Allaah. So they would be given their book of evil deeds on their left hands behind their back and Allaah would not be pleased with them. Their faces will be dark and sad. This is the group that will enter Hell fire. May Allaah not make us one of them. (Amin)
Taalib: Hmm. May Allaah have mercy upon us. Does the, Last day have any other name by which it is called? Ustadh: Yes! The Last Day has many names by which it is known. The meaning of the Last Day in Arabic is AI-Yawmul-Aakhirah. It is usually referred to as Yawmul Qiyaamah which means the Day when. ali of creation will stand before Allaah for judgement. It is also called Yawmul Jami the day when all things will be gathered before Allaah, Yawmul Bath the day when everyone in the graves will be brought out. It is also named Yawmud-deen - which means the day of rewards and accounting for your deeds. .
Also, it is called Yawmul Khuluud which means the day of Eternal life. All things after that day will either be in enjoyment or punishment, except those who will have Allaahs Mercy given to them. In addition, this day is also known as Yawmul Taghaabun which means a day when the people of Paradise will gain from the loss of the people of the fire. This day has other names but we have only stopped here for now. It will indeed be a great day!
Taalib: But why should there be a Last Day? Does it really have any benefit?
